Northern Ireland's Minister for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, Edwin Poots MLA, has launched a £2 million scheme for schools to create or improve pollinator gardens, following the success of the Rural Community Pollinator Scheme.
NI School Pollinator Grants
Grants of £3,000 to £12,000 will be available to schools, and the initiative will be led by Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful. Poots hopes to build on the success of the community-based scheme and educate young people about the importance of pollinators. The scheme will begin in April 2022.
